Le Mas where our restaurant Le Candille and some of the hotel rooms are located, dates back to the 18th century. It started life as an olive and grape-growing farm. Read more for the Republican forces. Le Mas Candille has been many things: a vineyard, a Napoleonic bivouac and an olive grove before being converted into a hotel in the 1960s.
In January 2012 the restaurant Le Candille reopens its doors with a new decoration inspired by the 18th century history of Le Mas Candille. The style is one of timeless elegance, with touches of modernity brought by its eclectic mix of artworks and objets d’art. The crowning glory is the ceiling full of the nuances of the sky, taken from the painting Le Troupeau by the celebrated local artist Jean Honoré Fragonard.
